Monongahela National Forest
38,000 additional acres of the Monongahela National
Forest to be designated Wilderness under HR 5151 is
now heading to the United States Senate (S 2581).
Please call or email Senator Byrd and Senator
Rockefeller to ask them to not add additional acreage to
HR 5151. The WV DNR has plans to remediate acidity in
streams and maintain wildlife habitat with modern tools.
Hunters need to ask for ease of hunting access and to
allow the WV DNR to manage wildlife habitat on the
Monongahela National Forest.
