West Virginia State Chapter National Wild Turkey Federation

Since 1987 the State Chapters of the NWTF have
secured future hunting access for the public by
investing more than $9 million into land
acquisition. Access is important for recruitment of
new hunters and to hold on to older hunters. Loss
of hunting access hurts state wildlife agencies
because of a decline in hunting license sales. The
West Virginia Chapter of the National Wild Turkey
Federation is rated 8th in the United States for
money spent to acquire new public lands to hunt
on. The WV-NWTF has spent $305,117 since 1987
for land purchases. With those funds we have
managed to secure over 6000 acres of new public
hunting areas. More can be done and will be
accomplished in the future. Thanks to all of you
volunteers in West Virginia that make these
    purchases possible!
